Cara's musical career began in her early teens as a cabaret performer at major conventions
in Toronto. As it blossomed it carried over into her adult career -
a career which has included performances for live theme park stage shows (Canada's
Wonderland and Ontario place), as well as winning a role as a
featured performer in 42nd Street - a major tap dance and song show.
A significant career milestone for Cara was in being part of
the Canadian cast of Les Miserables. For more than
3 years, she performed over 800 shows and played the part of Eponine at certain
performances and Cosette in her final year of the production.
Several musicals followed including The Phantom of the Opera (Princess
Hannibal/Christine), Gypsy, and Big River. After
"Phantom" Cara became the Principal singer on the M.S. Windward
cruise line; and then later on the Regal Empress where in addition
to the ship's production shows, she wrote, staged and performed her
own one-woman cabaret show. Among 500 hopefuls who auditioned, Cara
was awarded the role of Ariel, in the production of
The Little Mermaid in London, England's west end.
Cara's career has
taken her to many countries including the United States, Germany,
Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, England, Japan, the Caribbean and all across
Canada including performances at Toronto's esteemed Roy Thomson Hall. She
also performed for the late Princess Diana of Wales, twice,
in two different countries.
Movie and
television acting credits include performances along side such
notable stars as Bette Midler, Kathleen Turner,
Mathew Modine, Jamie Foxx, and Dennis Farina to name
but a
few.
Her musical
versatility allows her to easily cover anything from pop, country
and rock to jazz and musical theatre. Cara Chisholm provides
elegant and enchanting musical entertainment for a wide variety of corporate and
special events.
