Conundrum focuses on creating and delivering an experiential team building activity that strikes just the right balance between team fun and team learning. Each of their adventures easily stands alone as an entertaining team event that gets people working together. But each of their teambuilding exercises are also designed from the start to impart valuable lessons on effective and efficient teamwork.

The exact balance between these 2 complementary goals is determined by your choice of adventure and program. First, select the adventure theme and setting that best appeals to your group, and then pick the program that matches the learning objectives for your event. Whatever combination you choose, they'll work with you to ensure your team’s experience is first-rate.

ADVENTURES

In the spirit of friendly competition, their adventures challenge teams to use their collective problem solving, organizational, and communication powers to achieve success. While the setting, theme, and focus of each adventure may be different, there are some key elements they all share in common:

CONUNDRUM METRO - Outdoor Programs

The original Conundrum Adventure is an experiential team based challenge best described as part scavenger hunt, part trivia quiz and part Amazing Race urban adventure, (but without the TV cameras and intense physical challenges).

Equipped with maps, compasses, and game cards, teams of 4- 6 participants compete to solve as many mind-bending challenges (a.k.a. conundrums) as possible within an allotted period of time.

The Conundrum Metro adventures are a great *outdoor team building alternative using city streets as game boards, cryptically leading teams to novel and unusual places of interest. Specific routes are designed around your chosen starting and ending locations, making your adventure both convenient and efficient.

CONUNDRUM EXPO - Indoor Programs

The Conundrum Expo indoor team building activities fit the bill when you want to bring all the benefits and excitement of our original adventure indoors. Instead of sleuthing throughout the city, during this employee training, teams of 4-6 participants must navigate their way through a particular city venue in an attempt to solve as many mind-bending conundrums as possible within an allotted period of time. Exhibits come alive in a new way as teams use them for the basis for their problem solving challenges.

In addition to providing excellent Conundrum game boards, our venue partners offer optional meeting room and catering options that are suitable for our Classic Plus & True Colours programs, and any other meeting or agenda plans you have for the day.

MEDIA CIRCUS

How does your team cope in today’s information rich, but attention span short, world? Our newest and most dynamic team building activity, Media Circus, is designed to find out. In a fun journey into the hustle and bustle of the media world, teams strive to create a news media program aimed at viewers who not only want the facts, but want them delivered in a quick and entertaining way.

After a briefing from the network President, teams receive a set of diverse story assignments. Over the next 3-4 hours, they will take part in a press conference, recruit a legendary anchorman, and report from the scene of a crime in progress. Teams will need to accurately report the facts and film compelling and entertaining video footage that will lift the network’s flagship program, Media Circus, to the top of the ratings.

Most importantly, over the course of this entertaining adventure, your team will have a chance to showcase its resourcefulness, creativity, imagination, and powers of coordination.

Our Media Circus adventure is ideally suited for urban environments, but can also be customized to fit your chosen conference, team retreat, or team meeting location. While much of the adventure takes place indoors, most Media Circus events include outdoor elements.

THE SEVENTH KNIGHT

The Seventh Knight is a great team event, developed to add more chivalry, rivalry, and revelry to your team event. Set in the impressive Medieval Times Castle, the team building games revolve around the following premise:

King Philippe has decreed that a seventh knight be added to his impressive Tournament of Knights roster. Teams will vie for the honour of providing this new knight by attempting to impress the King and his court with a new crest of arms. While the concept seems simple enough, teams will need to summon all of their collective brainpower and skills to emerge victorious. Each team will need to piece their crest together from a series of swatches, only earned through success in a variety of quests & challenges.

These diverse and entertaining quests take place within the confines of the castle and are designed to appeal to many different interests, skills, and talents. Most importantly, they are also designed to reward effective teamwork and collaboration. Strategic and on-the-go planning, priority setting, creative thinking, and effective problem solving are all part of the adventure, but happen within the framework of a fun and friendly competitive event.

The Seventh Knight's theme may be medieval, but your team's newfound cohesiveness will be squarely set in the present and future.

This offering is best suited to the Classic Plus or True Colours programs.

PROGRAMS

Each of Conundrum's adventures can be delivered in the following team building programs, depending on the key objectives for your corporate team building event:

Classic

A Classic Conundrum Adventure brings your team together for 2-2.5 hours of fun and excitement, developing team building skills for success! It is the perfect choice for injecting energy into conferences, off-sites and quarterly meetings or for celebrating team success. After a brief introduction, participants are on their way and spend approximately 90 minutes working together in the pursuit of victory to earn as many points as possible. The fun continues as teams regroup and conundrum solutions are reviewed. Finally, amid much banter and lively discussion, cheers are offered to the winning team as they are rewarded for their victory.  

Classic Plus

With the Classic Plus Adventure, your team can really get into high gear. This ˝-day program amplifies the excitement of our Classic Adventure, and delivers a more explicit focus on team behaviour, dynamics, and learning in addition to developing team building skills for success. Choose Classic Plus and benefit from:

  • A longer adventure, with more conundrums to solve.
  • A midpoint check in.
  • Snacks & bottled water at the midpoint check in.
  • A facilitated de-brief that is customized to your team's needs, in which participants discuss key learnings and how they can be applied back in the workplace.

True Colors

Combining the powerful temperament assessment tool of True Colours facilitation with the fun and experiential learning of a Conundrum Adventure, this dynamic program is an ideal vehicle for getting your team firing on all cylinders. The benefits will be immediately apparent and powerfully sustainable as individuals develop an awareness of how their own characteristics influence their team's performance and how they can use that knowledge during their interaction with other team members to optimize team performance.

  • The True Colours program begins with a workshop that takes approximately 90 minutes where participants conduct a self assessment.
  • Teams then discuss the key values and strengths of each colour, gaining an appreciation of their own and the diversity within the group.
  • Teams then participate in a full Conundrum Adventure experiencing the team dynamics.
  • Following the adventure a debrief is conducted highlighting the key learnings.
