Paul Henderson
Leadership, Teamwork & Goal of the Century
Paul Henderson, a member of the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, became a Canadian sports legend on September 28, 1972. His goal, with 34 seconds remaining in the final game, lifted Canada to victory in the "Series of the Century", against the Soviet Union. Incredibly, Paul scored the winning goal in each of the last three games of this historic first series between the two superpowers of hockey.
Few words send chills down the spines of Canadians like the words uttered by legendary hockey broadcaster Foster Hewitt one winter day in 1972: Henderson scores! Since then, the man who scored the goal heard from coast to coast, Paul Henderson, has become a Canadian legend. [more...]

Few words send chills down the spines of Canadians like the words uttered by legendary hockey broadcaster Foster Hewitt one winter day in 1972: Henderson scores! Since then, the man who scored the goal heard from coast to coast, Paul Henderson, has become a Canadian legend.
That magical moment in Moscow is still considered the greatest in hockey history. In 1997, on the 25th Anniversary of The Goal, Paul was immortalized on a postage stamp issued by Canada Post and a silver coin by The Royal Canadian Mint.
Paul begins his presentation with a brief video reliving the rush, glory and heart-pounding excitement of the '72 series. Through his sharing of behind the scenes NHL strategies, innovative insight, and humourous anecdotes, Paul correlates his own experiences to today's competitive business environment.
Paul is also President of The Leadership Group, an organization he founded in 1984, which is devoted to the development of people for leadership. In addition to his involvement with The Leadership Group and the community, Paul is the author of two books, The Fans Go Wild and Shooting for Glory.
He is also very active in community groups such as Muskoka Woods Sports Camp and Teen Ranch and is a spokesperson for The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. In 1998, Paul received the Ontario Special Achievement Award for his contribution to minor hockey. In 2002, Paul was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Award for distinguished community service.
Paul Henderson is the only living person to be depicted on a Canadian Mint coin, and has also been depicted on a Canada Post postage stamp.
In his keynote presentations, Paul uses the lessons of leadership, teamwork, NHL strategies, innovative insight, committment and humorous anecdotes gleaned during the 1972 Summit Series and his 18 year professional hockey career, to motivate businesses and organizations to reach their own goals.
