Since 1980 Margaret Atkinson & Matthew Romain, The Join Hands Puppeteers, have toured across the country finding solid, creative methods of fulfilling their mandate to educate and entertain through puppetry.

They've performed over 1,500 shows across Canada. They have conducted hundreds of workshops for adults and children on the uses of puppetry in education.

Matthew and Margaret work full time adapting or writing stories, designing and making life-sized puppets, writing and arranging music, and producing, directing and performing their shows. In their off-hours, Margaret & Matthew are working toward publishing their stories in the form of children's books.

Join Hands shows are well-known for their unique open-puppetry style of performance. Their audience sensitivity and rapport make them welcome guests in any community, as do the wide variety of musical instruments and musical styles presented. Their keen sense of fun is appreciated by both children and adults. The puppeteers are consistently rewarded with the adulation of their audiences and the respect of their peers and presenters.

The Colonel, is a big bold character who presents a variety show of large colourful puppets, including: The Wild Giant Grasshoppers of Borneo who dance The Can-Can; The Singing Catfish, - a blues/scat singer who squirts the audience whenever he says the letter 'S'; The Largest Egg In The World which hatches before the audience, and an Exotic Plant who does a really decent James  Brown impersonation.

All the way through, the Colonel expounds the virtues of his wonderful elixir which he promises to sell to the audience at the end of the show.

When the end of the show arrives, he's shaken to find that his side-kick monkey has used up all the elixir.

The audience however is found to be invigorated, rejuvenated, and revitalized even without having bought any elixir, and a great time has been had by all.

With a variable running time, this non-stop laugh riot is perfect for festivals, concert series, and family corporate events!
