James Duthie's Bio
One of the most talented and humorous stars in sports broadcasting today, James Duthie is the host of TSN’s extensive NHL coverage, including the award-winning NHL on TSN. From covering the Olympics to his daily antics on TSN, James is recognized across the country for his outstanding work, and his entertaining and sharp-witted style.
He is an eight-time Gemini nominee, and was honoured with a Gemini Award for Best Sportscaster/Anchor in 2009. Duthie is the former co-host of the evening edition of SportsCentre, Canada’s most watched sports news and information program. He also previously hosted TSN’s highly acclaimed CFL studio show and NBA coverage.
Duthie was also the daytime host of CTV’s highly acclaimed 2010 Olympic coverage, and the host for CTV’s coverage of Team Canada’s historic gold medal hockey run. In his time at TSN, he has also hosted NBA, CFL, NFL, PGA golf, and Sportscentre.
He is also the author of three best-selling books: The Day I Almost Killed Two Gretzkys and other off-the-wall stories about sports and life; They Call Me Killer, stories from coaching legend Brian Kilrea and his most recent The Guy on the Left: Sports Stories from the Best Seat in the House.
James won 3 straight Gemini Awards as Canada’s Best Sports Broadcaster, and was honoured with the prestigious Sports Media Canada Award for Excellence in Broadcasting.
